Remember that X files episode where they were led by a series of cookoo clues to a boxcar full of aliens (with smallpox vaccine scars) buried in the desert? I thought that would make a funny romantic symbol: cold, hidden, possibly full of alien corpses (maybe empty would be better). But in this story, the romantic interest gets what she wants: a reason to go to the desert.
