You see I was born the 7th child on the 7th of July Doctor pulled me from the womb and then he began to cry Singing your sisters all are deaf & dumb & your brothers all been blind But Lucky Number 7, well youre gonna be just fine I was raised to my 7th year in the shadow of the volcano The villagers watched the top in fear through summer sun & winter snow But when that mountain spewed black smoke I could see it in their eyes Lucky Number 7 was to be the sacrifice I said My Oh My, Mountain mile high, made of rocks that glow Damn near 1000 souls beneath got no place else to go Well they tied me up to drop me in: appease the Devil down below Aint no use in running when that black wind starts to blow... SOLO Well I spent that night alone in fright, sick about my fiery fate Til I realized I could free myself if it wasnt yet too late Well I slipped those knots like a wily child and I made to get me free Til the Devil in the mountain whispered something straight to me I fetched a lantern from the mining shed and a box of matches too I grabbed seven sticks of dynamite cause the Devil told me to And I marched right up that mountain, took me straight until the dawn And I took out all that dynamite cause I saw what must be done I said My Oh My, Mountain mile high, made of rocks that glow Damn near 1000 souls beneath got no place else to go Well I tied it up and I dropped it in: appease the Devil down below Aint no use in running when that red rock starts to flow... No there aint no use in running when that red rock starts to flow
