Eighth Grader

notes:
I have to write a book report now
On the author James Joyce
I must make it through Ulysses
Though it isn't by choice
School makes us work so hard
Much too much for a kid like me to take
We have to study lots of physics
E equals MC squared
String theory, classical dynamics
All the children are scared
That's what we have to do
And daily stress is messing up our lives
I'm an eighth grader
I'm an eighth grader
I'm an eighth grader, give me a break
I'm an eighth grader, and they're working us too hard
We learn calculus, Quantum Mechanics, Algebra
And poetry where the words don't even rhyme
I know all about genetics
And chemistry
I know the history of humans
And philosophy
Why must we work so hard?
There's no time to go outside and play
I'm an eighth grader
I'm an eighth grader
I'm an eighth grader, give me a break
I'm an eighth grader, and they're working us too hard
We learn calculus, Quantum Mechanics, Algebra
And poetry where the words don't even rhyme
I want to go outside and play
I want to go outside and play
I want to go outside and play
